In the past this problem has been caused by corruption to DATA.REZ, one of the patched files. I suspect this is the cause this time as well. We're not sure of the cause but suspect something running in the background during the patching process -- most likely a firewall, an anti-virus program, or one of Windows' services. Before you do anything, please zip your new DATA.REZ and send it to me at telphelp@yahoo.com. Next, restore your 1.2 files. If you had backup copies saved then move those into MM9's 'data' folder. If not then re-install the game and the 1.2 patch. Next reboot, enter Safe Mode, and re-install the patch. Make sure you read the status messages the patch displays for you.
