This also happens to me a lot in Morrowwind and gets me hurt at the most inoppertune times. For MM IX, I corrected this by not using the mouse very much. I remapped the keyboard to use the arrow keys for movement and the standard "A" & "S" for melee and spells. It was making me too dizzy using the mouse for movement and fighting.
