It seems to me that it was a simple "order of operations" error in the math, as explained above XP = (1 + 0.09 + 0.0110) 5 * (raw XP), rather than XP = 1 + 0.09 + (0.0110 5) * (raw XP) If it's not a bug, then it has to be some artificial adjustment to make the Mage and Lich stronger characters to balance game play. As kkc points out, that's a little hard to understand.
