I learned this past weekend that you can walk around behind that little village in Alvar to the spot where the bees are. Don't have to cross all of those bridges.

So yeah, took me 20 years to figure that out. Cuz, I'm just all sharp like that...

One of the thing I always did in the M&M games was to go everywhere.

So often, there was a lonely chest parked somewhere on a narrow stretch of beach between the cliffs and the sea, or on a mountain ledge far from any towns or houses. I always paid a lot of attention to the maps, to ensure that I had at least overflown everywhere.

That was one of the disadvantages of MM9 – the party couldn't fly outside, and consquently many areas were very difficult to explore completely. Mark you, I never found anything in areas like that . . .

That's the whole thing, Peter, I always was an epic explorer in these games. I can't believe I missed that little path in Alvar all these years.

    Funny. Not funny. lol

. . . but isn't there a chest up in the montains in the north-east of Ravenshore? Up behind Lord Brinne's Tomb somewhere? Or is my memory playing me tricks?

There's a chest there. You need to fly to get to it, or be really good with a Jump spell or scroll, as I recall.

Flying in MM8

I once read that it was possible to get flying super early by getting to Ravenshore as soon as possible and running straight to Ithilgore in Garrott's Gorge. If you keep all the horseshoes on the way, this gives him just enough skill points (including those unallocated when you find him) to upgrade his Dragon ability to Master, which doesn't require promotion. Since then I've been unable to resist the temptation to do this on every single playthrough, which consequently makes the game far too easy and boring, but I keep doing it!
