Whistlebone/Dragon promotion respawning knights

I have killed all the dragon hunters I can find & still don't get the promotion (or the message that I have killed them all). I cleared out the dragon hunters twice. Apparently they respawned because I've killed Whistlebone twice & have 2 swords The knights & chests respawned & I also have 2 Snake swords but can't get a promotion. Any ideas?

You have to kill all the knights in their castle as well. This includes the hidden passage. It is easy to overlook one dragon hunter if you are not thorough.

I've had this with the dark path quest to clear the griffins out of Erathia. I did this (I thought), went back to Seth, and he told me I'd missed two. I found and killed one, but I couldn't find the other one anywhere. Finally, in exasperation, I went back to Seth and he said the quest was done!!!

There a few Griffins past the sewer on two tiny islands and it is real easy to miss one in the Desert. Especially if you let a wounded one run away. They seem to cross the boundary into the next land. You see this with emerald island flies and bandits.

because after you leave the area, the monster returns to it's initial place where it was supposed to be, and fully healed. Reentering the area should always work for any "Kill all monsters" quests.

in seven the dragon flies would respawn daily or weekly. but only if all are killed. so going into a cave would reset the nasties and those that where out of range would return to where you can kill them.
