Maybe this could help; a post from 2004:

The program defaults to the might and magic 7 folder, but it's in Roman numerals. If you look carefully, you see the roman numeral VII at the very end of the path, which is the roman number "7". If you add on more "I" to make the number "*" instead of "7" it will recognize your saves.
