I don't know of anything that increases any of the racial abilities for the dark elf, vampire or dragon above what you get by putting skill points into them. They behave like spells, but they are not connected to any school of magic. The rings "of Doom" add 1 to all your abilities. Usually, this isn't worth having, especially when your characters are well developed, but it may add 1 to your "to-hit" as well. I've not had a look at that. Also, IMO items "of the Gods" are among the most overrated in the game. They would be extremely valuable to a character at the beginning of the game, but by the time the party starts finding them, the break points in the abilities table at so far apart that it's rare for them to give any significant benefit. In contrast, I always thought that items "of Protection" (+10 to all resistances) were thoroughly undervalued in the game. In MM3-5, you could eventually boost your resistances to a point at which elemental attacks do virtually no damage, but I've never reached that point in MM6-8 with any of my characters. |
