I grew up in a town in the Pennines in England. Our house was on a 1 in 8 hill (i.e. for every 8 feet you travelled, you went up (or down) 1 foot). There would be 7-14 days each Winter when you could not get the car out of the garage because of the snow, and for the next 4-6 weeks, if you were fool enough to get the car out, you certainly wouldn't get it back in. If I never see snow again, that will be at least a fortnight too soon. I could never understand why people enjoy skiing and so on, although I appreciate that some people do. I'm very happy with warmer Winters!
