going solo

Starting a Solo Sorcerer tonight

    There is one major obstacle though - getting master water magic.

    I learned over all those years of playing MM that I can bypass lack of healing spells with startegic and cowardly use of LB and TP, lots of scrlls and potions too.

    I have a few ideas in mind for skills developent order, quests order and relics.

    From time to time I could post some of the progress here if anyone finds it interesting.

    Anyway, time to leave office and head home!

    now looting the dragon for scholar cap and this reluc staff of darkness.

    of course won the challenge for the 3 points and hired a scolar npc.

Rady to leave the Emerald island

    I was watching a movie late night on TV and mindlessly multilooting the por thing. This is what I got after approx one hrour and a half:
    - almost 30,000 gp
    - scholar cap
    - ethric staff
    - leather armour with 30 fire res and hp regen (nice, will offset negative hp regen from staff)
    - boots with 23 hp bonus
    - cloak with 25 hp bonus
    - ring with +18 luck
    - ring with +21 AC
    - ring with 17 sp
    - griffin bow of thunders (top tier electric dmg)
    - black potions of endurance, luck and personality (penalty from
    cap offset completely atm)
    - a wand of clouds, paralysis and distortion

    The wand of clouds came in handy as I sold the bow and I had to kill the temple swordsman to get one for scavenger quest.

    Cleared everything and able to train almost to 7.

    I have a scholar and a teacher atm.

    When all set I will be travelling with a spellmaster and an instructor.

    Btw, can i killed everyone on Emerald island for some extra exp or will it have some negative impoact on the gameplay?

    When in harmondale I will do some quest wih fly & invisibility - wizard promotion, cleric promotion, crusader promotion (already got the hang of killing dragon at clvl one with wands in real time), archer promotion.

    I will also collect some genie lamps from bracada and Dayja.

    And quickly do The Choice quest and back to gaming, clearing everything and the like...

    Paladin promotion was a joke with a wand of paralysis and a wand of clouds. When he came to and paralysis stopped taking effect I just ran away untill I was green meaning I could cast invisibility. Invisible, I approached him with paralysis wand and he had to go down.

    Fire Magic expert for better torch light. Maybe I will get master for meteor shower.

    Now Ihave to go to get Water Master which will be difficult I guess.

    But Dark Proving Grounds will be a PAIN. It makes me rethink my approach to elemental magics - so I migh go Water GMaster, Air GMAster and Fire Master for meteor and do some fighting befor actually attemting the dark proving grounds.

    Some more quests already covered:
    - found arcomage deck and cleared the white cliff caves

    But now Dark GM lvl 14 + 7 bonus from staff. Collecting money for Souldrinker.

    Things are waaay easier and managable with dark magic. With souldrinker its gonnna be right on.

    Now I cam back to do all the quests and clear all areas.

    Need to kill a few dragons to collect some pieces of equipment - I need all with max hp bonus and an item with 23+ alchemy.

    Money isnt much of a problem. Going all the way with basic merchant only. With one toon it doesnt matter much - all equippment from lootng monsters.

    Now I have to try arenas for some extra levels . See what the ratio time to exp gained looks like. If its too time consuming and exp not good then go on.

    Even more gold and nice loot - got +25 alchemy ring and +25 HP leather.

    Im still on the lookout for +max HP items and maybe 'of protection".

    Still dragons left to loot

    Otoh, titans do pose a threat - are tougher then dragons but i just invisibly pass ast them and focus on dragons only.
