Starting up new game

With the announcement of M&M X Legacy, I’ve had to itch to start up a new M&M VII game, and partly because I never finished it, either.What patches do you recommend I install? I am not looking at any mods, but just patches that improve the performance/quality of the game? I’ve already installed Mok’s patch, is there any other ones I should install as well?

TTBOMK, if you can install Mok's patch, your game should be fully patched.

FYI, there was only one official patch issued for the game, which was mainly to overcome a severe (but not game-killing) issue with two quests, for the lich jars and the soul jars. Basically, you need the Lich Jars to get your sorcerer promoted to Lich if you are following the Dark Path, but another quest (to get the Soul Jars) blocked that quest. Installing the official patch, available from the link below, cured that bug provided that it hadn't already struck.The point is that, as I understand it, Mok's patch can only be applied after the official patch, so if you can patch your game with Mok's patch, you should be safe. Of course, if you want to be ultra-sure when you're playing the Dark Path, you can do what I did, and delay completing the Soul Jar quest until after you've promoted your sorcerer to Lich. Just make sure you can tell which is which - they look virtually identical. The link below will IIRC give you access to the official patch and to Mok's MM7 patch. I've no experience of the other patches around, but I've heard very good reports of the game as altered by BDJ's MM7 patch. This overcomes one of the things that "killed my pig" in the vanilla game, which was that no party could have access to both Dark and Light magic. HTH!

Peter,I actually did a reinstall of the game to be safe. And decided not to go with any mods, just any patches that have been released. Do you, or anyone, know about Greyface's patch? I have heard that is a good one to have? Thanks for the info so far!

Well I never!  You're absolutely right, I don't see Mok's MM7 patch anywhere in the File Library.
