Transparency Issues?

    Hello!

Well I've been trying to replace the portraits in MM7 with my own - because I frankly don't want the human males to have beards for my characters. >>

And as you can see, there's a problem... I can't seem to get rid of that blue border. I had no problem in MM6, but that was a while ago.

I've checked both the original MM7 portrait file and mine numerous times, and they are the exact same. o.o

Can someone help me or direct me to where I can get help?

I like it!

It looks like you're on the right track. The blue needs to be the exact same CMY value. That color might need to be set as transparent as well -- if such a thing is possible in whatever file format that is. It *has* been a while, hasn't it?

It's bmp. I don't know how to set the color transparency in any programs I have. XD

    What does CMY mean?

    Thanks for responding!

BMP does not have a transparency option, so you should be OK....

CMY stands for Cyan, Magenta and Yellow -- which is what is used in printing. I should have written RGB (for Red, Green and Blue) which is what you'd be using onscreen.

Both of the RGB for my image and MM7's image are exactly the same. D=

I can't find a single different between the two, except that their's works and mine does not. ._.

You're using the same color resolution, right?

That is, a 256-color palette. I'm out of ideas, so I hope that's it. Versenwald, one of our tech wizard posters in the past, says that he had introduced new character portraits, so I know it can be done.

I'll fiddle around some more with the images. o.o

I wish I had pre-made portraits already done so I can snatch them up!

Oh! I think I remember now....

I don't have M&M installed on this machine, but I'm pretty sure that the portraits had 256 colors and the transparent color was either the first or last palette entry. Email me one of your custom portraits and one of the originals and I'll look into it.
