Barrels of White Liquid 05/11/2012, 19:10:00
|
Smokey writes:
They seem to be extremely, extremely rare in MM7. In my years of play I have only seen a few Barrels of White Liquid. Programming error? Or did they over-value Luck in 7? In MM8 they are a lot more common though, as they seem to have the same chance of appearing as the other colours.

How about non-existent? Are you sure you have seen any in MM7? I don't know why, but I have never seen any white barrels there. If everybody start with luck=11 they end up with luck=75 + whatever they get from items, and that's it.

Maybe they were trying to avoid the trick we all used in MM6, ... 05/12/2012, 07:14:04

Luck was not the only stat that could be used that way. If you are patient enough you can use the same trick with might (well, with might you have to hurry up a bit), accuracy, speed and endurance. My clerics also add to intelligence that way and sorcerers personality. Am I the only one doing this? The way MM7 only gives 8 drinks from the luck well makes it not a very good idea to go below 11 on average.

Luck was the only one I used that way in MM6. 05/12/2012, 12:25:30

I seldom reached the others before I had advanced to a point where they wouldn't give anything relevant to a character. You know, when I reached the other wells, my mages got some wisdom, my clerics some intelligence, and so on.I didn't know that the MM7 well didn't respawn, but then, I don't play MM7 much.

Luck Well on Emerald Isle 05/12/2012, 13:11:10

Smokey writes:
Actually, the 8 uses of the Luck well do respawn, but only after 2 full years.
The dragonflies respawn every week, but the map itself only fully respawns with all NPCs every 2 years, including the luck and gold wells.

Yup, I definitely have gotten White liquid in MM7 before. Maybe the chance is just absymal, seeing as there are literally a hundred barrels in each game, and Walls of Mist basically gives infinite barrels.
