If you have received the archmage promo quest, then Thomas Grey will have provided you with a golem NPC. You might not have noticed this. Check the borders of the NPC character picture at top right of the adventuring screen - there should be a tiny arrow on the side of the frame. Click on this to scroll through the NPCs, and when you reach the golem, click on him to assemble your golem. BTW, you are using the correct golem head, aren't you? (HINT!)
