The version should be 1.1 after applying the patch. If the version is 1.0.something then the .exe has not been patched.Even if the size of the file did not change, the "last accessed" time stamp should change. (1) Has the timestamp changed? If not then the file has not been found most likely.
(2) From where have you run the patch? I recommend copying the patch to the same dir where the .exe is and run the patch from this dir.
(3) Have you got messages or dialogs during patching? I am not sure whether you should get some but if you have got some then which messages and how have you replied the dialogs?
