I think Vista is the same as Win7. The x86 folder is a protect folder. If you run an app (game) as admin it will be allowed to write to the folder. If not it goes to a user folder (several sub folders possible). You can run into a situation where one session the save is store one place and the next session elsewhere and will not load the proper file. search for *.mm7 and see where there are located. Set the game to always run admin and copy the save to the x86 save folder for MM7.
