Although I know the Elf-Human war is on a timetable, for some reason I thought it didn't really begin until you talk to the ambassadors. But it does. My party was very busy seeing how far they could get without training, so they simply went about their business. In April we were in Stone City for training; it was October when we finished (20 levels in one swoop), and upon arriving back at Chateau Harmondale, voila--the Arbiter had died. Now we have to pick a new one. We never talked to King Parson or Queen Catherine, no trumpet, zilch. I'm not much bothered by this, but I'm surprised. At least our little principality really was neutral in the war. :-)
