... and IIRC reported that the best ranged weapon in that game was a "Bow of the Ancients" or possibly an "Ancient Bow." He didn't mention any sort of blaster - and if had been that good, I think he would have done. That's by no means proof, of course, but knowing the guy, it's a good indication.
