Becasue in MM7 the ONLY place to find Blaster Rifles is on the Lincoln (submergred spaceship) at the very end of the game. You can get Blaster pistols earlier in Colony Zod and Archibald gives you one when you first enter Eofol thru the tunnels. Blaster pistols, hoeever, are useless IMO and I have never used them even in the Shoals enroute to the Lincon. Now, in MM6, you can get them at about mid game or so, but it is not easy. MM6 and MM7 are the only MM games that I know of that Blasters of any kind are available. I am talking about the original MM7 here, not the mod.
