I just use the Sorcerer and Cleric for the spells, so they can boost the power of the bow-armed Knights, while the Knights do all the main damage. Unfortunately, it was easier in MM6 when all classes could master the bow, and you could go both Light and Dark magic (though I might be mistaken, you can do this in the modded MM7?).
