1152 was a misprint. The correct date for Roland's letters should have been 1162. This is indicated in the intro ("three years have passed since Sweetwater was destroyed"). Sweetwater was attacked by the Kreegans, who did not invade until 1162. Roland led the attack against them during that year. 1152 is actually the year Heroes II takes place in.
