Let's see if I recall correctly: You are right that Armsmaster gives speed and to hit bonuses to Unarmed, and not damage bonuses. If you're using a staff, you can benefit from either Unarmed or Armsmaster, but not both. (If you have both, only the Armsmaster bonuses apply.) I do somewhat recall my experiments which showed that the monk does more damage per second with Unarmed alone than with Unarmed plus Staff (in almost all circumstances). After that, I never used a staff. BV
