If you will remember, just before you entered Cave #2 (Friendship Test), the Coding Wizard appeared and urged you to save your game right then and there. This is the save that you should have used to restart the quest. The Autosave is no good, because the game thinks you reloaded inside Cave#2. which is a no-no. Any reloads inside Cave#2 will cause the Coding Wizard to eradicate you and any exits other than the normal one will do the same. This holds true for the Coding Fortress as well, although you must portal out when finished as there is no other exit. If you return for any reason, the Coding Wizard will attack you.
