although I am not sure. I have limited experence with Sold Out's versions as I have a Sold Out version of MM8. I do nottice some subtle changes here and there (in MM8). I really don't know how or if Sold Out's versions of MM7 affects the Mod, but maybe it does because TP should work for you after returning the Book of Unmaking to Thomas Grey. It certainly does for me. On the other hand, you are playing a solo non-magic user that you dualed to a magic user AFTER completing that quest and that might be the problem also. I dunno what to say about that.
