usually do the obelisk quests in either MM7 or 8 because there is no extra XP for the quest and the treasure is mostly useless. I do, however, always do the Master Bounty Hunter quest in MM8 for the 1.2M XP exploit.

Now, in MM6, the obelisk quest is very useful if you have a magic oriented party, which I usually don't.
