But cuz it was the first time running thru the game, I used it sometimes. Particularly, in the Maze. I wasn't prepared to be met by "welcome comittie" with 5-6 Mino Lords. I'm usually taking the middle door first and was killed before recognised what is going on. Then started from autosave again. BTW, lords were pretty resistant to slow spell and it worked well only every 5th or 6th casting of it; I even made it a quickspell for sorc. On the second attempt I was more successfull and cleaned out entire dungeon with 3 or 4 visits to the healer. Two times to Stone City healer, cuz Cleric didn't knew raise dead and being a zombie is fun for a very short time.
IIRC, second time I used reload was when I accidentally falled through bridge in the MtNighoon into lava and had not any scroll of TP, third time was second visit to the strange temple.
As for multilooting - I never multiloot monsters. But I do it with book shops.
We had a long discussion about this issue on old 3DO boards with wmxa and Fander Treespook and my point was (and still is) - if you need something you cannot create by your own, you are going to buy it. The offer in the book shops is dependant from the random items generator, dependant on my PC clock. I cannot understand, am I fighting an enemie or my own PC; I refuse to be dependant on such categories as my own, players luck. If there is a chance, that all books I currently need, is on the stock, I'm grabbing this chance. wmxa's point was, that I can use an editor instead (he, as you, refuses any looting), but I don't agree. If something can happen sooner or later, better it will be sooner. Looting the monsters and item shops is for me too close to cheating and editor using. As you said, each to his own. In both Rev1 and Rev2 I'm using very little magic - regeneration, heroism, bless, cure paralysis; from elemental school slow, destoning, sometimes shield and stoneskin, fire aura, wiz eye and torchlight. Dispel, prot from magic and raise dead later on. For now in Rev2 I still am lvl 1 and used reload from final death only once, when get stuck into Tunnels to Nighoon by ~15 eyes without using invis scroll. On second attempt, I used it and passed successfully. Then returned and reduced them to the passable level, making available Stone city via TP thru Nighoon.
