I agree with Vilx that score is not important, but sooner or later most want to try to get a decent run in.

So with that in mind I would say that the 7k you got is about the norm for first run. I am not sure what the highest score allowed is anymore, but I have made just shy of 165,000, so I am sure it goes higher.
