You cannot dispel magic on yourself, only on others. Also, "special conditions" like disease, poison and so on aren't magic and cannot be dispelled. Therefore, you cannot emulate "cure magic" by means of this spell. You can use the spell against Queens of the Dead and Lich Kings but, IMO, this is the only use of the spell.
