... the optical drive's analog cable is attached but is being ignored by Windows. These directions are for WinXP but other versions are similar. Right-click on 'My Computer', choose 'Properties', then click the 'Hardware' tab, then the 'Device Manager' button. Double-click on 'DVD/CD Drives', then on the drive in question. Click on the 'Properties' tab. There's a checkbox towards the bottom. Windows will ignore the analog cable if this box is checked, so uncheck it if it is. If M&M still doesn't play music then you don't have an analog cable. You'll need to fins a fifteen-year-old to do it for you.
