I've had times when the game wouldn't successfully map the keys the way I wanted. So I found their entries in the registry and changed them manually. Worked like a charm. My MM7 registry location (yours may vary?): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\New World Computing\Might and Magic VII\1.0 I don't advise editing the registry if you can't fix what you break. Good luck!
