From my point of view, MM7 is still more about Magic than Might, but with a subtle touch.

If you're playing Dark, then I would stick with Magic only, since Dark Magic spells are still more damaging than any Knight can hope to be.

If you're playing the Light Path, you would do better to balance your party out a bit more. Light Magic doesn't have the damaging spells Dark Magic has, but it does have some very nice spells that will do any Might Character a lot of good. Light Magic is mainly about improving your tanks, so taking KKSC for instance would be a good move. PPSC would probably be even better, because the Paladins get to use Paralyse and some Self Spells, which is never a bad thing.
