Original Message:   Well, the magic system
in WizGold (which is actually Wiz 7 with better graphics) is basicall the same as Wiz8 and, of course, M&M 6-8 has basically the same system while MM9 was a bit different, but with the same basic rules.

Whiler I am relatively new to WizGold (just got my copy a couple of years ago), I have played about 10 games with different party configurations and imported them into Wiz8. Learning advanced spells is dependent solely on skill points allocated to the magic school (i.e. Thaumaturgy, Divinity, etc) and the chance of success appears to be a function of character level. Mana points are earned by learning spells (you cannot allocate points to realms - fire, air, etc) at level up only to school.

WizGols is a very difficult game to play and the puzzles are multi-level (in dungeons) and many are even multi area with items found in one area needed to solve a puzzle in another.

The final dungeon is an 8-level monster with some VERY hard fights . . Good luck (you'll need it).
