1. A Monk may learn Expert Spear, which, from now on, grants additional 1 hit point of damage per one Spear level. 2. The point is that a quick spear ir better than Unarmed until appr. skill level 15 and at some point (midgame) a Spear Monk is overrun by the Unarmed-only and the Complex monks. "Far behind" means 10-15 hits per blow. Of course a Spear may bear enchantments. But a Staff may, too. A quick spear ir better than Unarmed until Level 15
