Original Message:   There are some requirements one must satisfy.
1) You must retain transparency, i.e. no background color. At least with my software, even retaining the light blue default background screws things up. Thus, I select all desired material, crop it into a new blank (thus ensuring background transparency) and then save.

2) You have to save the .bmp correctly. When I save as "adaptable with palatte" AND check the "transparent" box, I get functioning, visually correct sprites. You cannot save as 24bt-color bitmaps, it won't work. Sprites that are not transparent will import alright, but create globs of color on the screen.

3) Many of the sprites appear in specific locations and if resized too much, will not overlap the character's picture correctly.

Lastly, my version of MS Paint is useless for this process. I use "Ultimate Paint" which has a decent, functioning shareware copy available somewhere on the net.

It's probable that there is an easier process! However, I am only intermediately skilled at this stuff, so this is the best I can do. Good luck!
