you could go and do some other easy side quests such as retrieve the signet ring or kill wromthrax (its easy if you range him and keep your wits about you to avoid his water attack)or you could sleep in his cave near the entrance so dragons appear thn go to the side of them so they can't hit you but you can maul them to little pieces lol(they get stuck in the cave entrance if your wondering)  hope i have helped!
