Original Message:   I FOUND A WAY TO COMBINE VERSENWALD'S SKILL EDITOR WITH MOK'S PATCH!!!
Well, sort of. I have been desperate to play a game with naturally altered skills instead of having to constantly resort to an editor. I own two copies of MM7 (one purchased individually shortly after its release, and another from a 4567 Package I bought last August), and recently changed computers. Versenwald's wonderful, wonderful, wonderful skill editor (either version) never used to work with my old copy, for whatever reason. So I was thrilled to find that it works fine on my new copy, except that my new copy wouldn't run. For the first time, I had to use Mok's patch. Unfortunately this prevented use of the edited skills. By sheer mistake, I reinstalled the game without deleting the now-patched installation. Guess what -- the skill editor works on the reinstalled copy, which runs, thanks to the other installation having been modified with Mok's patch! However, while the 2nd copy does run fine, it does not have any of the fixed bugs (i.e. Psychic Shock's damage). Nevertheless I am HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!

Thus:

1) Install game. 2) Apply Mok's patch. 3) AFTER applying Mok's patch, re-install the game into a separate folder; do not delete the previous install. 4) Put the skill editor -AND- the accompanying original.bin into the same folder as the 2nd install. 5) Edit skill tables and insert into game. 6) DO NOT APPLY MOK'S PATCH TO 2nd INSTALL! 7) Play MM7.

Please note that I am running Windows 2000 on that computer. Do excuse my obvious inability to write technical stuff effectively.

Hope this helps someone else! Thanks again to Versenwald and Mok!
