saves you one NPC slot which is important.
And when you accumulate many unrecognizable items, visit a store, or hire (then fire) a Scholar to do a quick identification session. And if you are not in a hurry, this thread explains on the Many Identification Methods. (like when you gret a thing repaired, it is automatically identified). Like in fighting monsters - for me, using the Paralize spell became boring in a game or two, and I wondered what do you need - even for a Dark party - even without paralize spells, wands and scrolls - to get a monster paralized with a chance of at least 50%+ per round, and I would like to know how much Paladins with a GM Mace (and what level mace) do you need to achieve this chance? And does it help if you party has stunning weapons too (meaning that a stunned or slowed moster gets paralized sooner, may be). But they say - 'Do not bother - Use a Wand - or - Armageddon or Schrapnel'em to bits!'
