Sorry, I do not have the game at the computer here in my work But: The patch is an official patch released by 3DO. Look at "properties" of the MM7 .exe, it should say "version 1.1" after patching. Also, the version can be found somewhere in the game configuratiuon screens. The unpatched game shows "version 1.0". The spear bug is one of the bugs listed as fixed by the patch. And it, indeed, is in my games. My spears get added damage starting from the expert level. Without the patch, your spear will never get added damage, not even at the master level.
