So I would unquestionably arm the paladin with a mace. Spear vs 2 swords. There was a bug in MM6 that made 2 weapons less effective than 1 weapon. TTBOMK, this was cured in MM7, but Bones is the expert here, and would be able to give you more authoritative advice. All master sword does is to enable swords in both hands, it doesn't actually increase the skill with which the character uses them. I think that master spear actually enables you to do more damage. But as to how master spear compares with the damage from two swords at effectively expert level, I frankly don't know. My gut feel would be to go with the spear for the archer, but that's all it is - gut feel.
