try what he suggests. i run mine with a fully updated XP Pro and had a few problems. using mok's patch fixed them and the only issue i encounter now is sporadic, random changes in sound levels, but not very often. i use headphones, so it can be a bit annoying when they occur. *shrugs* but i get to play, mostly trouble-free.
