Of course I have to reload now and then but far from often. As you play you modify your playing style. And since training is not allowed XP is worthless, you just run past the creatures.
I admit though that getting through the tunnels to Eofol took several attempts and the pit is also a nasty place. Those places are challenging and difficult but the point I want to make is that it is far easier than I had suspected.
All my knight lacks compared to a "real" knight is hitpoints. He fights nearly as well and has perfect equipment.
