Original Message:   How it all started
For some reason I have a very vivid memory of this.I am standing in a pc shop looking at a game called "Might and magic 7",that's just out.I thougt about the review I read in the english pc-gamer magazine that said this game was ugly, boring, awful and that you needed a beard to be able to squeeze just a tiny bit of enjoyment out of it.I did not have a beard. But you know when I first started playing pc games I knew that I wanted to live a thrilling adventure. So I bought games labeled "adventure",only to find out they were puzzle games.I played shooters and strategy games and had some fun with them but they did not give me the feeling of living an adventure.Looking at the box I got this strong feeling that this game might be what I wanted. So I bought it. After installing it and choosing the default party I felt a bit lost.Apparantly in this game you had 4 characters that moved in a straight line next to each other all the time.Weird.Pretty soon my whole group was killed by a bunch of ...ahum insects. This happened before I figured out how to shoot back.Darn bugs. The next day I discovered that my chars had armor and weapons in their inventory I was supposed to put on them. The results were amusing and thrilled I went to face those insects again. Using hit and run tactics I was able to defeat them.Victory! Later on I learned spells, bought better weapons and made some potions myself. And then the adventure started:I stumled into a creepy cave, got in a fight with some fellow treasure hunters, got a powerfull wand for free from a generous person and had to run for our lives from a big dragon. Soon I was informed that I had won a castle.Wow... a castle of my own, that I could enter and walk around in.Well I had some tough fights on my hands to tidy it up a little, but it was still great. The next day I visited the town, got quests, bougt funny looking armour and spells with promising discriptions.Apparently I had won a whole country so excited I began to explore.I had a lot of fun experimenting with my new spells. When I used my wand I blew hostile goblins sky-high.Very satisfying.Like in a war movie I was able to conquer a strategic position up on a hill and use cannons to decimate the opposition. This was fun! When it became dark I walked my party to the water and looking at the beautifull sky I thought about all the adventure still to come and I knew I deeply loved this game. And I still do today.
