It's been a long time since I ran the test, but IIRC, I found that the unarmed/staff combo doesn't actually work.

When you arm your monk with a staff, the game only uses the staff skill, and ignores the unarmed skill -- even if you have GM staff.

If I am not recalling correctly, please let me know. (I haven't the time to check just at the moment.)
