Part of the fun is to discover easy ways of doing things. Defensive fighting, trickery and using the environment helps a lot . The only disadvantage is exploding chests in the early part of the game, but it is not nessessary to open all chest immediately, you can always come back later with telekinesis or enough HP to survive combined with regeneration. It also helps if you choose an all goblin party.
