Necromancer. Immense power of darkness, nestled in a mortal body. Even as Shara, Queen of Darkness patrolled purposelessly around the Pit, she could not help but feel a sense of pride. The pit was her home, and with her fellow necromancers they could summon entire armies of wraiths and spectres to halt of any invasion. Especially those from the forces of light. There was no threat. None whatsoever. Shara remembered the time four unlucky adventurers that had wandered through the entrance to her domain. Wide-eyed and hopeful, they no doubt had eye for the many treasures in the Pit. Such naivity. Shara had roasted the lot of them with a single Dragon's Breath spell. Even as they burnt away into ashes, she laughed. Such foolishness. A commotion woke her from her reminiscence. She turned and beheld a giant Light Elemental towering above her. Where did it came from? No matter, she unleashed a Dragon's Breath and killed it. However, there were more of them around, and they seemed to be respawning. From somewhere. A flash of light and one of her sisters were dead, killed by the burning fires of Holy Light. A Necromancer's ONLY weakness. Her brethen attempted to counter by summoning a vast army of undead. But they were outmatched. More and more of those Elementals were spawning. The invasion of the pit had begun. Shara's eyes darted back and forth as she searched for the source of her enemies. Then she saw it. Traces of magical energy coming from the back of the Earth Guild. She ran towards it, pausing only to roast another Light Elemental. As she turned the corner to the back of the Guild she was taken by surprise. There, standing before her, were the same four adventurers she had destroyed. The same wide-eyed naive look on their faces. Only this time laced with grim determination for revenge. She raised her hands to cast a spell, but the elf among them jabbed her spear at Shara. Caught by surprise, the puny waepon did little to damage her magical protections, but had knocked her few steps. Those fews steps caused her life, however, as she was sent plummeting into the lavary depths of The PiT. As she fell, she cursed her makers for designing her home in such a hazardous way. Such were her last thoughts.... |
