It just dawned on me, are we done with the whole Ironfist family? Somehow, I never put two and two together, but realizing that NWC and 3DO are gone, UbiSoft owns the titles, and now with Dark Messiah coming out in "a whole new land where all future MM's will be set", it suddenly hit me... No more Archibald. No more Roland. I don't know how I missed this all these years, maybe waiting for MM8, then MM9, I just got used to waiting for them to FINALLY return to the storyline. Playing and replaying the MMs and HoMMs, I really enjoyed the story of Archibald and Roland, and then Catherine, as it went from HoMM1 to HoMM2 to MM6 to HoMM3 to MM7. MM8 and 9 had nothing to do with them. I never played HoMM4 as I got a bit tired of the gameplay in HoMM3 in addition to hearing really bad reviews. So, johnny-come-lately that I am after all these years, does the story continue/finish in HoMM4? Is MM7 the last time these guys really interact (I don't count the cameo at the end of MM8, or Nicolai's cameo in 9)? What is the final chapter for these wonderful characters? I feel like I just found out some friends died, only they've been dead and buried for years.
