Look in your journal. The date at the chapter "War!" is the exact starting date of the 4-month period. Add four months and you get the date when Judge Grey will die.
Right, the hour and minute matters, too. If you don't want to solve problems with exact hour and minute then add 1 day 
When Judge Grey dies, the messenger appears no matter where you are currently but he will appear only in the "exterior", not in a dungeon or inside a building. Also, he won't disturb you from resting.
