So I install, and get the message that the game won't run without DirectX 6.1 or higher.

First of all, IIRC, DirectX6 is on the CD and is installed with the game? But, I must be wrong about that... :o/ So, I set out to find the latest version of DirectX, which is 9.0. I install the damn thing and install MMVII once again. Only it keeps telling me the same thing: It can't find DirectX v.6 or higher. I tried finishing the installation in spite of this, but all I get when I try to start the game is - it loads up to full screen, then quits. Just vanishes and I'm back to my desktop.

Fine...So I'll go and find DirectX v.6 like it requested. I find ONE version downloadable(which required me to get WinZip to unzip the files needed) - and click the icon to start installing DirectX v.6 - and nothing happens. The puter thinks for a moment, then stops, like nothing happened.

So basically I need a place to download DirectX v.6?

Also, I though I had it installed, since I have MMVI installed, which also requires DirectX...? I'm confused...All I wanna do is play MMVII - not all this s***.........*sigh*
