I would not call it easy, doable is more like it. Anyway melee means hand to hand and confused. Using bows at maximun range is not melee. Not easy, becasue a level 1 or there abouts cannot stand to be hit by any dragon, so you must be able to shoot and dodge for a fair amount of time, unless you used the wand. I am pretty sure a wand is not melee under any definition. So it is 'easy' to die doing strickly bow and melee is never going to work for a level 1 party. I would agree you can kill the dragon will hit and run, but do not make a mistake as reloading is not going to qualify as easy.
