After numerous attempts at configuration, I found that only one setup will allow me to play M&M7 in WinXP. It was the exact opposite of what most people had been recommending. You're welcome to try it for yourself. Go to the folder that holds your M&M7 files (probably C:\Program Files\3DO\Might and Magic VII) Right-click MM7.exe and select the compatibility tab. Make sure that you're NOT running MM7.exe in compatibility mode. Do the same with MM7Setup.exe. Set video to "Software 3D". Set audio to "Disable Accelerated 3D Audio". I'm not sure that Windows video settings come into play here. For what it's worth, my desktop is set to 32-bit color depth and 1280 x 1024 resolution. Good luck with it.
