Peter2 calls it a "small warning" IMO, Thunderfist Mountains are unfair with respect to your level and equipment in the time when you start feeling need to reach Nighon. They are a challenging dungeon - and a very nice one if you are prepared.
Therefore:(1) Make sure that you will be able to Town Portal away from Nighon. Have a scroll (you will save the game and try repeatedly until you succeed) or have a mage who is ready to become a master in Water Magic and has the book of Town Portal. (2) Pass Tunnels to Nighon, which start in Stone City. This should not be a problem. Do not drive crazy the warlocks there, they can be very unpleasant. Find the other exit from the Tunnels. (3) SAVE THE GAME! Tunnels to Nighon end and Thunderfist Mountains are ahead. (4) Click the exit and check the welcoming comitee. If they have sent two Minotaur Lords (red) and a Minotaur Headsman (dark blue) then restart, you have no chance unless you are protected by GM Protection from Magic. If they have sent three normal Minotaurs (brown) then you can fight - if you are level 20 or so and have some usable equipment. (5) Once you have dealt with the comitee, heal yourself and then run. Run like hell. First to the left, and next crossing to the right. You will reach the nearest exit from the Mountains. Ignore Minotaurs and Evil Eyes around. (6) Now, to the village. After exiting the Mountains, turn left and follow the trail to the inhabitated areas. Note that the village consists of two parts, one is nearby the other is behind the Mount Nighon. Keep away from warlocks there, they are hostile. (7) Do what you need in Nighon and teleport away by means of Town Portal. Now, you can teleport back whenever you want. Nighon contains a fountain. That's all. You will return later. And the law will come with you ... Note: Nighon belongs to the "dark" areas. Therefore, the shops are open in the night, the temple will "resurrect" your dead guys by turning them to zombies. |
